Car Ectoplasm?                                Back to Ghost Pictures

John McArdle sent us this picture of an auto accident.  Sometimes, smoke, fog, breath (if it is cold) and
even dampness can cause mists to appear in photos.  John gives us as much detail as possible, so we
know it is not fog, smoke or breath.  Is it ectoplasm, or dampness perhaps that caused the mist?  It is
impossible to tell for sure.  Maybe there
was a presence with his family through this ordeal...

"Attached are a few pictures of an auto accident from Friday, 8/18/2006 at 8:30PM, where my wife, six
year old, and 20 month old were involved. Only about a mile and a half from our house in Lakeland, FL
where the rain had just passed over, my wife and boys were on their way to McDonald's. She was
stopped and signaling to turn left when a 1999 Dodge Ram truck pulling a small trailer lost control,
slammed on his breaks, but still hit the rear of the car causing the damage you see in the pictures. Not
real sure of how fast his truck was still moving at time of impact, but the speed limit on the road is 40
mph.  My wife, nor the two boys were injured, and she tells me not even a cry or whimper came out at
any time. A friend picked all of them up and brought them back to our house. I then went with him to get
the car, which was moved across the street in a large grass field next to a home plan. Both he and I
took digital pictures where the temperature was around 78 degrees F, and a little overcast, but not
raining. I took 23 pictures of the car and surrounding areas."
