The Red-Headed Bride                                               Back to Ghost Stories

by Brady Border
About two years ago, my family and I went to Tahoe for a week.  Some people might not
believe this, but across the street there was a graveyard.  On the second from the last day, my
cousin had discovered this cavern type thing that you had to use a rope to climb into.  I was
eleven at the time, but I was very adventurous.  So my family and I went into this pit -
cavern-type thing.  After a while, my cousin and I got bored and went to the top; but our moms
said we couldn't cross the street until they came up.  So we waited about a half hour, looking at
the old graves and finally deciding to visit the other part (because it was split in two).  So we
walked a round for a while, and I couldn't help noticing this one particular grave. It just stuck out
from all the others.  And that's when it happened.  I saw for a split second, a red haired lady in
a wedding dress reading a book.  She then looked up at me, smiled, and  passed a grave and
then she was just gone.  I had gotten so spooked over the whole incident, that I ran as quickly
as I could across the street to my grandma's room; and couldn't speak for the rest of the night.
My cousins to this day make fun of me, and don't believe me; but I will always remember the
red headed bride.
