Real Ghost Stories Collection Vol 1 | True Supernatural Encounters

Step into the shadows with Real Ghost Stories Collection Vol. 1

A compelling journey into the eerie unknown, where the living and the dead may not be as far apart as we think. This chilling collection features true paranormal encounters shared by real people from diverse cultures and corners of the world. Their stories are unsettling, mysterious, and at times, deeply personal. Some are quiet brushes with something unseen… others are terrifying confrontations that leave lasting marks.

For thousands of years, ghost stories have traveled through time — whispered around campfires, passed down through generations, recorded in diaries, or spoken in hushed tones among friends. They serve as warnings, clues, or connections to those who are no longer with us. These tales often begin with ordinary moments — a familiar room, a late-night walk, a sudden chill — before spiraling into something otherworldly.

But are these ghostly accounts real? Or are they the product of imagination, fear, or grief? That question has haunted humanity as much as the spirits themselves. This volume doesn’t offer conclusive answers, but it does present you with authentic voices and unexplained events that make you stop and think.

Whether you’re a firm believer in the spirit world, a curious skeptic, or someone who’s simply fascinated by the unexplained, these stories are shared to stir your thoughts, raise goosebumps, and maybe even shift your beliefs. Let your guard down. Tune in. And allow yourself to explore what might lie just beyond the edge of what we call reality.

Hair Raising Ghost Story

Anonymous

I have always have enjoyed the supernatural, but when it comes to going ghost hunting or being put in a situation where the crap is scared out of me…um, I’ll pass. But there was one night that I didn’t have the choice to pass; and I did get the crap scared out of me.

I was visiting my family out in the west and was staying at my aunt’s house with my three cousins, uncle and my mom. My aunt took me, my mom, and my cousins to a restaurant that was formerly a hotel in the past, and people still stayed there. It was supposedly “haunted.”

As we waited for our food we ordered, I felt I had to learn more about the old place. So I asked the waitress. She told me everything she knew, and then, told me that the bar tender downstairs knew a lot more than she did. Well, kids aren’t allowed to be around the bar but they made an exception for us.

I made everyone eat as fast as they could so we could go listen to this man tell us his stories. He had many of them that really got the hair standing up on the back of my neck and my adrenaline pumping. Afterward, we decided to take a little tour of the upper floor. We climbed up the stairs to where we found a balcony that overlooked the street. When we turned the corner, there was a hall that led to a room that was said to have had had an exorcism performed in it. I was scared out of my mind.

We looked at a particular painting on the wall that would just give anyone the creeps by itself. It was quite freaky. As I stood looking at it, my family went around the corner to continue looking around. As I continued to look at the painting, I saw a man on the balcony in all black with a top hat. I looked back very quickly to see if he was real. He was there; but then, I looked once more, and he had vanished. I heard no footsteps, and the board floor was creaky just like the old stairs.

I ran to my mom to tell her what I had seen. She believes in spirits also, and her eyes got huge when I told her my story. But as we left the hotel to go home she revealed her own story to us. She also had witnessed something paranormal. Before we left the hotel, my mom and little cousin had to go to the bathroom. So both of them entered into the ladies’ facilities. When they came out, they were silent. Obviously something had happened. When I asked them they said that as they went to the bathroom it got cold, and there was a loud banging on the wall. Of course, I tried to come up with every logical explanation. Was there someone working on the other side? No, it led to the street, and there was no one out there working. Maybe someone hit the outside of the wall? No, because the walls are sound proof for discreetness. Eventually, I gave into believing her.

Maybe we were meant to see and experience these spirits. Who knows? But, I am a strong Christian and attend church every chance I get. I love the Lord and believe that if I was put in a situation that might bring harm to me, he would protect me. Let’s just say that it was a VERY…well…hair raising experience.”

Heather’s Ghost Stories

from Heather, a young Wiccan

There have been several times when strange phenomena have occurred. I’m not sure if it has to do with my age or not, because hauntings have occurred around teenagers before (I’m 14). By the way, my name’s Heather, and nothing at all had happened before I started doing Wicca. Wicca is a modern form of witchcraft. It’s mostly intended to do good, and that’s what I used it for. I was trying to make something happen that I really need to happen. That’s what I meant.

One day, I was in my room. I had locked it, but it opened. When I checked to see who it was, no one was there. Another time I was on the phone, when a bottle I had on my dresser suddenly fell over with nothing at all to cause it. Then, there were two more things…I was in my room one night, trying to get to sleep, when I felt someone go on the bed, even though I was alone. I checked to see who it was, and again, no one was there. I tried to ignore it, and tried to go to sleep again, when I heard someone whispering right next to me. And, the last thing that happened: I was once again trying to go to sleep, and I felt someone sit at the end of the bed. I had been trying to do Wicca before these events, but by the time that these happened, I had stopped (doing Wicca).

I forgot to tell you this, but one day during school, I was in the sick room. The door was closed and the lights were off. I was on one of those bed-type things (a cot?) laying down, when I heard footsteps inside the room! I know, I know, it’s at school, but trust me, these were actually inside the room! I slightly looked up, wondering why the footsteps were inside the room (once again I was alone), and I saw an orb watching me. Pretty freaky, huh? I never thought that the sick room could possibly be haunted!

Update – Heather had another ghostly encounter in June 2005:

My parents were both at work, so I had to sit home by myself until my mom came home at midnight. So I was just watching TV and talking to my friend on the phone. Then, it sounded like somebody else picked up the phone, so I thought maybe it was her parents or something. But then, about 5 minutes later she was like, “The phone got louder, and nobody is here except my dad and he is sleeping. Is somebody else on the phone at your house?” So, I told her that nobody could be, because I was home alone.

I got up and started to search the house, and we could both hear really heavy breathing. When I walked into the kitchen, the phone was hanging off the receiver, so I walked over and hung it up. But, when I went to turn away to go back into my room, it felt like somebody shoved me. Hard enough to make me have to catch my balance.

The next day when I woke up, it looked like there was a hand print burned into my back.

May’s Ghost Experiences

from May

I’m only sixteen years now, and I’ve noticed that the older I get, the less I can feel different things. I have many memories of what some would call odd, but I’ve never considered them odd. I have always missed my grandmother a lot, even though she died two years before I was born. I used to cry often, and say that I missed her, but mum didn’t understand how I could miss someone I have never seen. Still I remember it often, that almost every night, I could feel someone sitting at the bedside; and once or twice I could see from the marks left on the bed, that someone really had been sitting there.

Also I know that there are some kind of spirits in my room. Every time I have changed bedrooms it has felt amazingly empty, until I call for company…dead company, that is. In one room I had problems, as some of them I didn’t want there, refused to go away.

Since I started attending Boarding School, I know that all the spirits there are kind. I had a major crush on one of them, because he was always so charming, kind and funny. It didn’t matter that I could’nt see him; for one’s soul reflects more than one’s looks. About half a year ago, he “went further,” and I´m not sure what he meant by that; only that I know I will meet him again.

I cannot see ghosts, even though I have actually seen one. I once saw a shadowy figure leaning over a table, but I was much too young to take any notice.

Before my aunt died about 18 months ago, she had once said to me that she would haunt me for a time after she died, for we had often discussed matters such as death and ghosts. And so, after she died, I began hearing noises from upstairs, as she had lived in the same house (and her bedroom was right over mine). I had to ask her to find a way to communicate with me, that wouldn’t scare everyone else in the house. And so, for a year she visited my dreams several times a week. One night I had a final dream in which she told me she was now leaving. I woke up crying and it was the first time after her death I really understood that she really was gone. The very next morning, I checked the date, and it was only one day short from one year of her burial.
