True Haunting Ghost Stories Vol 4 – Real Paranormal Encounters

Ghost stories have a way of pulling us into the mystery of the unseen.

When a place seems alive with whispers, footsteps, or strange sensations, it often leaves people wondering if they’ve stepped into something beyond our world. Haunting ghost stories aren’t just about bumps in the night—they’re about the lingering presence of lives once lived.

Some spirits seem to reach out and interact, while others feel like echoes of the past endlessly replaying. In this collection, True Haunting Ghost Stories Vol 4, we explore chilling encounters where the boundary between the living and the dead feels blurred.

Heather's Haunting Ghost StoryHeather shares her ghost story of a haunting in Texas...

My name is Heather, and I live in Texas.

My experience with the supernatural wasn't very pleasant, as me and my family were scared horribly, though nothing ever was thrown us.

When I was six years old my parents, sister and I moved to Bowie, Texas on the day the Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2002. We hadn't lived in the country before, and Bowie was super-country, where your closest neighbor lived a mile away.

The first one to see a ghost was my sister, two days after we had been fully moved in. All I heard was her scream, and saw her run out of her room, which was across from mine. She said that she saw a hangman's noose hanging outside of her window, while she was trying to fall asleep. I never even thought about ghosts, but my sister was about twelve, and she never lied.

My sister wasn't immature enough to make up stories, so the next day I went looking around on our land. I found a little burned down cottage, from what might have been from around the time of the Civil War. I think it was most likely used for storage of medicine or whiskey - maybe both. I don't know for sure, but either way, I am almost able to bet my life that someone had died in there.

I was the one that saw the next ghost, but every time my sister and I would be at our friend's house, my parents heard children's voices saying, "Mommy? Daddy? Are you there? Come play with us." Like I said earlier, these ghosts never harmed us, so I think they were just restless.

When I saw the ghost, I had been going inside to get my mom a drink. The rest of them were outside with the horses. Once I opened the door to enter the home, I saw a pure white figure in the shape of a full-grown man, around 5'10 to 6 feet tall, walking through the entrance of my sister's room. I was about to scream, but instead I ran out of the house, as soon as the figure was too far in the room for me to see it any longer.

As I reached my family, I started saying, "I saw one. It was a pure-white man, and he went in my sister's room." I was still in shock, so I wasn't crying. Once the shock wore off, I had the strange feeling of curiosity and a thrill of fear. A couple of days later, we had decided that we needed to move. That night, I heard a voice calling my name and it was really creepy. I was too scared to do anything, and my voice seemed not to work above a whisper.

I managed to let out a "mom and dad," and it was luckily enough that my sister, who had been passing by, told me that she'd get them for me. While she was gone, for what seemed hours, the voice kept coming from the bottom of my bed. I had grabbed my Pomeranian puppy, and took shelter under the covers, but the puppy kept going down to where the voice came from. All it said was, "Heather...Heather..." over, and over. When my parents came in and turned on the light, the voice stopped.

We moved the next day. Ever since I've had that experience, I have read both true and fiction books about ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and other mythical creatures. I research all of them, too, because now knowing ghosts are real, I want to see what else is.

Haunted House of Salem

Ruth G.'s Story of Ghosts in a Salem Haunted House...

I said I would tell you about the house in Salem. The home is located in Salem, Ohio, and I lived there for a short time in 1992.

Only after I moved in did I find out that an elderly lady had died in the front bedroom. So I was like, "Gee, thanks for telling me now!"

Back then, I was terrified of ghosts. One night I had a dream. There was a brick wall behind me, and I was in the basement when suddenly a woman appeared before me, dressed as a nun. Have you ever tried to climb a brick wall? It doesn't work!

She told me that I didn't have to be afraid, and that there five of them (ghosts) living in the basement. She wanted to know if it would be alright if they came up once in awhile. So I was like, "Sure, I suppose."

The next thing I know, I was standing at the top of the steps when up floated an African-American woman in a purple dress.

Her hair was long and flowing and it was almost like a medieval-type dress. Then, up floated a woman with reddish brown hair, wearing the same type of dress, only hers was a dull red. I heard the name "Irma," but I am not sure which of these two might have had that name.

After that I walked toward the front bedroom brushing my hair, which was now wet for some reason. As I approached, I looked into the front bedroom and saw a naked man laying on the bed! That's when I said, "That's it! Everybody back in the basement!" Then I woke up.

It didn't occur to me until many years later when I was retelling this dream that I never saw the fifth spirit.

I have no doubt that the elderly lady was there. After I moved out, she came to me in a dream very frightened. They were renovating the house and she didn't understand what was going on. I let her know what was happening and that everything would be okay. I never heard from her after that. It wasn't until after I heard from her that I actually wrote the dream down.

Have You Ever Seen A Ghost?

by Sailor Sam

Have you ever seen a ghost? I sure have, and it wasn't frightening in the least.

I came home from the Navy in January 1966 and occupied a small bedroom on the second floor of a very old house my parents had bought while I was away. First night there, I showered and climbed into bed...eager for a good night's rest. Before I turned out the light, I noticed a shy, smoky, "see-through" lady (about thirty years old) standing in the doorway...watching me.

She was thin and had straight hair cut just above her shoulders; and she was wearing a simple cotton dress that hung to just above her knees. When I looked directly at her, I was amazed that I could hear her thoughts, which came as a whisper inside me. She was thinking how this must be the one everyone had been talking about (me), who was coming home soon. I smiled and said, "Hello," out loud; but, she seemed to have been startled that I could see her as her mouth fell open and she vanished in an instant.

Though I watched and waited, I never saw her again. Several years later I mentioned this to my younger brother who at the time was seventeen. He described the same lady in great detail, telling me he had seen her often. He would wake in the middle of the night for no reason to find her standing at the foot of his bed watching him. Later he told how several times, as he lie awake looking up, she came into the bed and laid down with him. I am convinced the lady was in the house before my parents moved there.

The fact that she was shy and had none of the characteristics of my family convinces me of that. Also my parents moved some time later to an even older house across town. My brother moved with them. To my knowledge there were no sightings there. The house has changed hands several times since. Often I have wanted to stop and ask the new owners if they have seen the lady on the second floor. My words refreshing the memory as I write, I think next time I will do just that.

I remembered recently of another encounter with a spirit, but this was not nearly so nice. Several years after my first encounter found me newly married and living several towns away. I had a business painting houses, and had developed a problem with pain in my lower back. For relief I began practicing yoga, then got into fasting, not knowing both these make one sensitive to seeing spirits. I was home alone this one, particular day and had gone through the yoga positions for half an hour or so. I had also been fasting for three days.

In concluding my yoga, I went through a lengthy, five minute headstand, came down slow, and was lying flat on my back - resting, when the ghost of a full grown male lion stepped through from the next room. Two seconds behind the lion came a woman. She was about forty and dressed in men's trousers and a men's white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. I lay staring up at the ceiling, totally astonished.

The lion settled himself next to me at an angle, and lay his chin on my thigh (I was naked). Where his chin rested (an area about the size of a man's wallet), my skin tingled and grew slightly warm. The woman continued across the room and seated herself in a large upholstered chair. Although originally calm from the yoga, I became very, very, nervous and began to hyperventilate. Forcing myself to remain calm, I began to come to my feet.

When my leg moved, the lion raised his head, looked at me and vanished. I stood and looked at the woman sitting across the room. She was looking me up and down and glaring with such hatred, that chills ran up my back. I pretended I couldn't see her and picked up the large towel I used to do the yoga on. Slowly, I folded the towel while watching her from the corner of my eye. Such a rage showed on her face that I became very angry. I had done absolutely nothing to this woman, yet she was so mad! Folding the towel tight as I could, I began walking like I was going to leave the room.

When I was about five feet from the chair where she was glaring up at me, I turned suddenly and hurled the folded towel hard as I could, hitting her square in the chest! When the towel passed through her and struck the chair with a loud "whump," she disappeared in what looked like a silent explosion...the lines of her form dispersing in a 360 degree "puff of smoke." I then shouted, calling her an ugly S.O.B., and told her to get the hell out of here and never come back! I never saw her again, thank goodness.

This second story happened to me when I was young, strong and maybe a little bit impulsive. Today, I would handle the situation differently. My violent reaction came from my own fear, and was unnecessary. The presence of the lion demonstrated to me that our pets must continue also in a spirit existence after death. I have had dogs and cats that I have loved dearly. Such knowledge gives me great comfort and the hope that I may someday see them again.

Every haunting leaves us with questions that may never be answered.

Were these experiences the work of intelligent spirits trying to be heard, or are they simply imprints of energy repeating itself over time? No matter the explanation, these stories remind us that the past is never as far away as it seems. The walls, the air, even the silence of a place can hold memories waiting to surface. After hearing these tales, it’s up to you to decide what truly lingers in the shadows.
