The ghost faces appeared in this picture through the psychic photography of the Crewe Circle while under scrutiny. Author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle considered it to be a good test that favored the group of psychic mediums.
One of the faces is the gentleman, H.D. Barlow, who appeared in another mediumship ghost picture. Both ghost images showing the ghostly faces are found in his book, The Case for Spirit Photography.
