"These photos were taken by my Mother and Father in Sweetwater, Tennessee at the Lost Sea in 1989. The people at the Lost Sea say that the blacksmith shop has been moved since then and she knew nothing of it's history. I know the caverns were used by the Cherokee Indians and by in the Civil War by the Confederate soldiers to mine saltpeter for gun powder. It is said to be haunted by a Union Soldier who was killed while spying on the confederates. That's about all I know. The photos are creepy though. Thank You for looking at them." - Melanie Speakes
