This angel picture may confirm what we know at Angels & Ghosts: we are surrounded by spirits. Often at the time of death, spirits from the other side will attend to the person who is about to cross over, adding comfort and removing fear. This way the passing goes easier and the person will move unto the light:

"This was one of several photos that had the same orb of light near the woman in the wheelchair (Mom), during Mother's Day services at church in 2005. Only the photos she was in had this occurrence, and it was shortly before her death (about two weeks later)."
