Friendly Ghosts In Our Home

by Cindy Bullock

I have lived in our old country home for nineteen years now, and have raised my three children here.

We have a resident ghost: an old, cranky man dressed in brown suit and hat who sits on the third step leading to the upstairs' bedrooms (who my daughters, now nineteen and twenty, have seen off and on, for years). He never speaks, just sits on the steps with his elbows on his knees and hands crossed.

We recently acquired a new female ghost that seems to stay on those same set of stairs, also. She just floats and looks at you when you are on the way up or down the steps. My oldest daughter has experienced her.

By the way, I live across from a huge cemetery and have had many other visitors over the nineteen years we have lived here. Perhaps, our proximity to the graveyard is why we have so many ghosts.
