Woman With Baby Spirit Picture

The photograph below owned by Angels & Ghosts was taken in the 1890's.  This is called a spirit picture, which shows a ghostly mother appearing behind her baby.  Spirit pictures and spirit photography began in the mid-1800s, and became an art form.  Some photographers claimed them to be genuine pictures of ghosts; other photographers created these ghost pictures for their clients, only as a neat effect.  This is a fine example of spirit photographs created through double-exposure...
